The Glen Rose senior red team defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs Saturday as both teams struggled to hang on to the ball during the rain.

With only 18 seconds left in the first half, Ethan Hartman connected with Dalton Howard for a 45 yard touchdown as Howard caught the pass in traffic and pulled away in a footrace for the goal line. Hartman added the two-point conversion on a QB keeper.

Gage Costello was the workhorse for the day, pounding the middle with tough runs, often carrying Bulldogs with him.

The second half saw the Tigers’ defense continue to dominate the line behind key players Dalton Howard and Gage Costello (leading tacklers) along with Stone Costello, Chasen Monk, Kully Reynolds and Logan Smith kept the Bulldogs out of Glen Rose territory.

Drayton Williams capped a long Glen Rose drive with a five-yard run, diving the last yard for the touchdown. Hartman added the two point conversion with a keeper.

Other notable defensive play came from Jadon Morris and Camden Reynolds. Great blocking was added by Kade Bonesteel and Dylan Brown. Coaches awarded the game’s “Mr. 110 percent” award to Gage Costello, and cited big hits by Ty Cambell, Dalton Howard Chasen Monk and Gage Costello.
