Tarleton State University head coach Cary Fowler is inviting all Glen Rose-area youth to join kids from other surrounding communities at the 2010 Texan Football Camps in Stephenville.

The action begins with the all-positions camp in which players will learn fundamentals of their position from experienced coaches. It is open to youth ages 13 and older and will run from 8-11 a.m. June 21-23. Check-in will be 8 a.m. Monday, followed by departure at noon Wednesday.

Overnight campers will pay a total of $250 including a $100 deposit, while commuters must pay $150 including a $100 deposit.

The fundamentals camp is designed to provide young players quality, individual instruction on the game of football. Techniques and drills will teach children the true way to play the game.

The fundamentals camp is July 12-14 at Tarleton Memorial Stadium and is open to youth ages 5-12. The cost is $100, including a $50 deposit. Check-in will be at the football fieldhouse on the south end of the stadium. The camp ends at 5 p.m. every day with aftercare provided until 7 p.m. for an additional cost of $25.

For more information or to register for either camp, contact the Tarleton football field house at (254) 968-9518.

Fowler will head up the staff for both camps. He was named head coach at Tarleton in March after serving the Texans as defensive coordinator each of the last two years.

Fowler came to Tarleton from Midwestern State, where he was named the NCAA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005.
