The 7th grade Glen Rose Tigers had a tough time containing the fast Kennedale Wildcats in the 44-6 loss Thursday night.
The Tigers had a hard time controlling the line of scrimmage and allowed the Wildcats to get to the edge.
Ethan Hartman got in a 61 yard run but that seemed to be the only bright spot for the 7th grade.
Glen Rose's 8th grade team played much stronger but still faltered in the end and lost 14-6.
"The eighth grade played hard and I'm proud of their effort," said coach Greg Garrison.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers held the Wildcats to a four and out and had a chance to tie the game.
After a 43 yard drive to the wildcats' 15 yard line it appeared winning was a possibility.
With 27 seconds left in the game, Glen Rose was knocking on the door but could not convert the fourth down.
Kennedale took a knee to end the game and the tigers lost a heartbreaker.
Chason Monk had the longest run for the Tigers at 22 yards.
Next weeks game will be at West and the 7th grade B team will start at 4:30.
