Glen Rose started District 7-3A volleyball play with a win on Friday, Sept. 25, sweeping visiting Hillsboro 25-6, 25-15, 25-16.

The Lady Tigers jumped all over Hillsboro early and often behind double-digit kills performances by Jessie Calkins with 13 and Katy Irvin with 11. Kaitlyn West added nine kills and Kaycie Brown had six.

In serves, Hayley Coffer tallied 12, Katie Uehlein had 11 and Catelyn Klipfel and Kaycie Brown each recorded five.

The win improved Glen Rose to 22-10 overall after falling to Peaster on the road on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 22-25, 16-25, 19-25.

Irvin had 15 kills in the loss while Coffer led in serves with six.

Glen Rose hosted Whitney on Tuesday and visits China Spring on Friday for matches beginning at 4:30 p.m.
