After dropping its first non-tournament match of the season last week, Glen Rose is back on track following dominant sweeps of 2A Rio Vista and last season's bi-district playoff opponent, Mineral Wells.
The Lady Tigers snuck by the first set, 25-20, against Rio Vista Tuesday, then switched gears by dismantling the Lady Eagles 25-8, 25-7 to take the sweep.
Destiny Ponce and Reilly Junge each topped the 20-point plateau in serves. Ponce had a season-high 27 while Junge scored 22.
The Lady Tiger passing game was limited because of Rio Vista's inability to sustain a volley.
Junge led the team with 11 passes while Ponce made 10 successful passes. Teryl Dunn just missed double figures with eight.
Cailtin Fellers led the offensive attack with seven kills while Taylor Rhodes and Cheyenne Harton landed three each. Harton and Fellers also added two blocks each.
In Friday's pre-football match, the Lady Tigers completed their sixth non-tournament sweep of the season, 25-22, 25-18, 25-14 over Mineral Wells.
Junge led the team with 16 service points while Kiffany Kelly (11) and Anna D'Angelo (10) also cracked double figures.
Dunn led the team in successful passes with 26 while Junge just missed tying the senior libero with 25.
Macy Reynolds led the Lady Tigers with six kills while Rhodes and Fellers each landed four. Ponce and Harton managed the middle with five and three blocks, respectively.
Glen Rose was in Dublin Tuesday and returns home for the first time in over a week to host Gatesville Friday at 4:30 p.m.
