The City of Glen Rose hired the law firm of Irving-based Boyle & Lowry as its new city attorney on July 7. Boyle & Lowry specializes in municipal and local government law.

TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Blue Jays fired manager Charlie Montoyo on Wednesday and promoted bench coach John Schneider to interim manager for the remainder of the season. General manager Ross Atkins made the move even with the Blue Jays at 46-42 this season.

GLEN ROSE - Before students return to the classroom this year, a new and immediate crisis alert system will be in place enhancing their safety. The Glen Rose Independent School District approved the purchase of a CENTEGIX CrisisAlert system during a special meeting June 15.

County already reaping benefits of new taxing district
GLEN ROSE — According to County Commissioner Dwayne Johnson, if the payments from the recently passed and newly established Somervell County Assistance District remain as high as the one the county received after its first full month, residents could see a significant break in the tax rate in the coming years.
