WASHINGTON, DC – After U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai announced that the United States is taking enforcement action against Mexico for undermining American energy companies in favor of Mexico’s state-owned enterprises, Rep. Governor Abbott statement on Samsung expanding investment in Texas

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today issued a statement following Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd.’s (“Samsung”) decision to potentially increase their historic investment in Texas to include 11 new semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Taylor and Austin. Last year, Governor Abbott announced Samsung’s initial plan to invest $17 billion in the construction of one new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Taylor.

AG Paxton urges Supreme Court to oppose policy releasing criminal illegals in US

AUSTIN –Attorney General Paxton filed a brief in the United States Supreme Court opposing the Department of Justice’s request to stay a district court order vacating the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) September 2021 Immigration Prioritization Memorandum. Federal law requires DHS to detain certain aliens who have committed crimes and aliens with final orders of removal, but DHS’s Memorandum ignores those requirements.

SAMHSA Administration announces National Rollout of 988 Lifeline

Here is a reminder that the U.S. is getting close to the July 16 transition to 988 – the easy-to-remember number to reach the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This transition is an important step to strengthening and transforming the crisis care continuum in the U.S. To help their partners communicate about 988, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has added downloadable print files for wallet cards, magnets, and posters to its 988 Partner Toolkit. The toolkit includes logo and brand guidelines , key messages, frequently asked questions, fact sheets (English and Spanish), radio PSA scripts (English and Spanish), and more. SAMHSA is also working to make the print materials available for ordering from the SAMHSA store and will be adding social media shareables by mid-July about the basics of 988.
