Sundown Bar & Grill hosts grand opening, ribbon cutting

Sundown Bar & Grill Owner Kim McDonald and her three sons welcomed guests as they showcased the new place adjoined to the family’s existing business, Sundown Subs, at 607 NE Big Ben Trail in Glen Rose.

Texas tax-free weekend focuses on school supplies, clothing

jhinton@cherryroad.com GLEN ROSE — In late May, Texans were treated to a tax-free weekend for WaterWise and EnergyStar products, and this time, shoppers can save money on clothing and school supplies this Friday-Sunday. “Most Texans won’t hear the back-to-school bell for another month, but it’s never too early to take advantage of the opportunity to save money on everything from book bags to ballpoint pens,” Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said in a press release.
