MUCH-NEEDED MOISTURE

After going nearly the the entire summer with negligible rain and triple-digit temperatures that dried up the Paluxy River, Somervell County received over 6 inches of rain last Sunday and Monday, and the ducks finally had water in which to roam. Big Rocks has water too, but it isn’t flowing just yet. The Metroplex has received almost 10 inches of rain in August , while almost 9 inches of it came in a 24-hour stretch, causing flooding in Dallas and Fort Worth.

Glen Rose ISD receives an A rating in post-pandemic growth report

Hannah Barricks GLEN ROSE — The Texas Education Agency released grades for Texas schools on Monday for the first time since 2019, and Glen Rose Independent School District was awarded an A rating. The grade represents the school’s accountability rating, calculated through three different measurements: student achievement, school progress, and ‘closing the gap.’ TEA has not been rating schools during the pandemic, a reprieve granted to allow the system to heal.
