Dinosaur Capital of Texas

The dinosaurs sold as a fundraiser by the Glen Rose Lions Club are beginning to pop up around town. The dinosaur outside Hammond’s BBQ is painted like a cow and has horns and a brand, while the dinosaur at Century 21 is totally yellow and adorned with the company logo. The Lions Club sold a total of 30 dinosaurs, netting $30,000 to help fund scholarships for high school seniors, the club’s eyeglass program, contributions to the local food bank and more.

Welcome back, students

Mayer Shuffield takes the “bus” to school for his first day of kindergarten at Glen Rose Elementary School with Ms. Voss, while Roo, right, sends off his owners Jill Pair, left, to Ms. Yeagger’s fourth-grade class at Glen Rose Intermediate and Stryker Pair to Ms. Morris’ second-grade class at GRES. Some 2,000 students in Glen Rose ISD were welcomed back to classes Wednesday for the 2022-23 school year.

Lady Tigers look to end three-game slide

GLEN ROSE – The Glen Rose Lady Tigers started off the season as one of the hottest teams in the state by winning their first six matches. The Lady Tigers, who were ranked second in the state earlier this week, cooled off, however, and after Tuesday’s 16-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 12-15 loss to China Spring in their home opener at Tiger Arena, they have now dropped three straight matches.

Being Stretched

I have a question. Now, for all you male-types out there, please forgive me for asking this. I’m sure to you, it will seem like a stupid question. But as I watch my son’s fascination with one particular, everyday object, I am reminded of countless little boys and big boys I’ve known who have had this same fascination. And I just need to know the answer.
