
Lions Club wins district award
GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Lions Club won District 2E2 Lions Club of the Year on Sept. 16 at a district-wide meeting in Colleyville.
GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Lions Club won District 2E2 Lions Club of the Year on Sept. 16 at a district-wide meeting in Colleyville.
GLEN ROSE — Abra Nusser, a consultant from Peloton Land Solutions, presented a comprehensive plan for improving the city of Glen Rose at city hall last week. The city council commissioned the company to gather feedback from the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee and the community for the plan.

GLEN ROSE — Glen Rose Team Tennis dropped a 13-6 district decision at Stephenville on Tuesday, but according to coach Gregger Yeager, the match was a lot closer than the score may indicate. “Though we only won six matches, but we lost three others in tiebreakers that could have very possibly gone our way,” he said.
“It was an awesome kick at a big moment and a long field goal,” Watkins said. “I’m super proud of Jorge on that kick. He’s doing a great job for us. That gave us the momentum going into half, and we needed to find a way to keep it to start the third quarter.”
GLEN ROSE — With more than a dozen players vying for tournament spots for each of the Glen Rose boys and girls golf teams, Glen Rose golf coach Owen Clifton said practices this season have been at a never-before- seen level. “We have never had to qualify before this year so that has been awesome,” Clifton said. “Practices have been very competitive.”
GLEN ROSE — With the potential of playing 15 ranked teams during the regular season, the Glen Rose Lady Tiger basketball team will test itself as it prepares to make noise in the postseason. “It’s a much tougher schedule, and that is a good thing,” said Glen Rose girls basketball coach Ramsey Ghazal after the schedule was released last week.
BROWNWOOD — For the first time since the 2015 football season, the Glen Rose Tigers were held without a touchdown in their 17-3 loss to Brownwood on Friday night. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 3-1 on the season, and they also fell out of the Top 10 in Dave Campbell’s Class 4A Div.

GLEN ROSE — According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the two teenage males struck by a car on a major thoroughfare in Glen Rose last Friday have been released from the hospital. DPS Trooper Clint Beaty said two male pedestrians, 15 and 14, were attempting to cross US 67 at the 400 block of SW Big Bend Trail around 3:50 p.m.
