Pile-A-Hawkie Fruit Stand becomes a permanent fixture on the Square

2 teens struck by car released from hospital
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the two teenage males struck by a car on a major thoroughfare in Glen Rose on Friday have been released from the hospital.

Council approves double-digit cut in 22-23 tax rate
GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose City Council unanimously approved the fiscal year 2022-23 ad valorem tax rate Tuesday night, and it is a 15% decrease from last year. The council adopted tax rate of $0.306298 per $100 evaluation, decreasing from $0.359597 in fiscal year 2021-22.

GLEN ROSE — Beginning this year for K-6 graders is The Little Tiger Cheer program in Glen Rose Independent School District. In August, Glen Rose High School varsity cheerleaders hosted a Little Tiger Cheer Camp for children wanting to explore cheerleading and becoming the mascot.
Tigers shut down Graham in 49-14 homecoming victory
GLEN ROSE — The seventh- ranked Glen Rose Tigers posted a season-low 346 yards total offense on Friday night, but it didn’t slow the Tigers from putting points on the board in the 49-14 homecoming win over Graham.
PTO hosts art, snow cone night at intermediate school
GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Intermediate School’s PTO threw a snow cone and art party Tuesday for students and their families. The event was held outside, and while the weather was rainy, the students had sunny spirits as they splashed through puddles and painted paper plates with craft paint and tiger paw stencils.
