
Tiger baseball opens season Thursday

The Tigers (28-7, 8-0), the District 6-4A champions, open the playoffs Monday at 6 p.m. when they meet Sweetwater at Cisco High School.
The Lady Tigers, winners of 11 straight contests, got a game-high 18 points from sophomore Alexis Rynders, 16 from junior Aimee Flippen, and nine each from sophomore Lily Melton and junior Grace Booth.
Glen Rose right-hander Shannon Wright twirled a perfect game while striking out five in earning her first victory of the season. Offensively, she helped her own cause with a hit and a team-high four RBIs.
The No. 1 Glen Rose Lady Tigers opened up the Class 4A playoffs Monday night at Clyde High School with a 90-4 victory over Big Spring to win the bi-district championship.
