Optimism abounds as Lady Tigers open practice

GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Lady Tigers opened the 2024-25 basketball season on Wednesday with the first officially practice, and who wouldn’t be pumped up for the upcoming season with three starters and six letterwinners returning from a team that went 33-4 last year and advanced to the regional finals. “We graduated some outstanding players in Aimee Flippen (ACU), Grace Booth (Tarleton) and Jewell Morris,” Glen Rose girls basketball coach Ramsey Ghazal said.

Miller reflects on years of public service

GLEN ROSE — During a recent meeting with the Somervell County Republican Party, Sid Miller, Texas Department of Agriculture commissioner, presented an overview of his public service journey, recent departmental achievements, and significant policy issues affecting Texans today. Julia Douglass introduced Miller as a three-term commissioner who leaned on his experience as a former state representative and a long-standing advocate for Texas farmers and ranchers.
