Simpson delivers in extras to lead Lady Tigers past Maypearl

GLEN ROSE — Glen Rose freshman Lexee Simpson found herself in the heat of the battle in two key situations on Monday afternoon against Maypearl at the Lady Tiger Softball Field, and both times she delivered in leading the Lady Tigers to the 8-7 victory in eight innings. First, with the Lady Tigers trailing 7-6 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Simpson led off the frame with a sharp single to right field, and she eventually scored the tying run on a two-out triple by Brooklynne Yant.

Coalition asks EPA for assistance regulating crypto

GLEN ROSE — As crypto mining operations expand across Texas, rural communities are quickly considering the potential risks of these unfamiliar energy-intensive facilities with few long-term apples-to-apples studies to reference and limited municipal power to regulate them. The National Coalition Against Cryptomining recently sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin, calling for federal oversight of the cryptomining industry to manage environmental and economic impacts, allegedly substantiated by various studies across the United States and referenced in local city council meetings, county commissioners court, and judicial hearings.
