A first place finish in the 4x400m relay, and three gold medal individual performances led the Glen Rose eighth grade girls to the District 12-3A track and field championship last week in Kennedale.
The 4x400m team of Jaylan Dillard, Christine Sprinkle, Hannah Dias and Yvonne Garcia won the event in 5:00.11.
Individual titles were won by Dillard in the 100m hurdles (18.02), Christine Sprinkle in the 300m hurdles (54.06) and Tatiana Wood in the 2,400m (10:31.06).
Glen Rose also racked up the points off second place finishes including the 4x100m relay team of Dillard, Peyton Downing, Morgan Bruce and Garcia (57.03), Garcia in the long jump (12-7) and triple jump (30-0), Sprinkle in the high jump (4-6) and 200m (29.93), Bruce in the 100m hurdles (19.21), Wood in the 1,600m (6:15.30), Taylor Rhodes in the pole vault (6-0), Teryl Dunn in the discus (72-6) and Dias in the 400m (1:10.59).
Others scoring for the Lady Tigers were 4x200m relay members Downing, Bruce, Reynolds and Garcia (3rd, 2:02.91), Felicia Hulsey (4th, high jump, 4-6), Dunn (3rd, shot put, 30-6), Roxie Ruiz (3rd, 300m hurdles, 55.9), Emily Herring (5th, 300m hurdles, 57.18), Brittan Sanderson (5th, 1,600m, 6:33.46) (5th, 800m, 2:51.72), Macy Reynolds (5th, triple jump, 28-9), Tanna Wasilchak (4th, 2,400m, 10:53.81), Dias (3rd, 800m, 2:46.88) and Amber Bulliner (6th, 100m, 14.81).
The seventh grade girls finished fourth in the district.
Winning championships for the seventh Lady Tigers were Reilly Junge in the 100m hurdles (18.69) and Alex Dahl in the discus (60-1-1/2).
Others scoring for the team were Kiffany kelly (2nd, long jump, 13-0) (2nd, high jump, 4-0), Junge (3rd, long jump, 12-5) (4th, triple jump, 28-8-1/2), Samantha Montoya (6th, 100m hurdles, 21.56) (2nd, pole vault, 6-0), Ambry Cully (4th, pole vault, 5-0), Abby Cole (2nd, discus, 60-4), Jenna Brannon (2nd, 2,400m, 1:08.56) and Cindy Martinez (6th, 2,400m, 11:34.37).
The 4x400m team of Junge, Shelby Rotan, Kelly and Destiny Ponce placed second in 5:00.11, while the 4x100m team of Junge, Kelly, Ponce and Rotan finished third in 59.21 and the 4x200m team of Brooke Gunn, Rotan, McKenzie Morris and Montoya was fourth in 2:12.09.
