Chase Evatt had a busy day at the Alvarado Invitational Track and Field Meet recently, placing in five different events.
Evatt was part of the Tigers' 4x200m relay team that finished second in 1:36.69, and was also fifth in the 100m (11.77 seconds) and sixth in the 200m (24.14) on the track. In the field, he was sixth in both the long jump (19-11.75) and triple jump (37-11).
Glen Rose picked up a pair of first place finishes as D.J. Figueroa won the shot put (42 feet, 3 inches) and Jesus Aguillar won the 400m (53.62).
Figueroa's shot put win was part of a first-second-fifth finish in the event for the Tigers. Jeremy Dooley (36-11) and Jimmie Johnson (35-9) were the Tigers' other throwers. Figueroa completed his impressive day in the field by placing fifth in the discus (102-2).
Austin Eschbach and Tyler Betsill teamed up for a second-third finish in the 300m hurdles. Eschbach finished in 44.32 seconds, followed immediately by Betsill in 44.60.
The Tigers also picked up a third-place finish in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:42.56.
Jarod Morgan was third in the pole vault (10-6) and Denver Tipton placed fourth in the high jump (5-6).
