A Glen Rose patriot who prefers to remain anonymous has erected a special memorial to veterans on his property at 1375 County Road 313 (look for the entrance with a large rock and cane). He invites anyone who would like to see it and take photographs to do so all day on Memorial Day. A memorial to fallen veterans includes a bayonet rifle, helmet, pack, boots and and an authentic battle flag, ridden with bullet holes, from World War II. Eight flags — U.S., Texas, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and P.O.W./M.I.A. — hang on special poles designed to let them pivot in the wind. The effect is a quiet but poignant remembrance to all those who have served in the nation's military forces. As the sign on the memorial says, "All gave some, some gave all."
