Another five-set thriller with West, another loss for Glen Rose.
The Lady Tigers challenged West in District 8-3A play last week, their first meeting with the Lady Trojans since dropping a five-set season finale in West that cost Glen Rose a spot in the state playoffs last year.
It was an unfortunate case of deja vu for the Lady Tigers as West again prevailed, this time erasing a 2-1 deficit by winning sets four and five in a 25-11, 25-27, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11.
The Lady Tigers were led in the loss by Kaitlin West with 10 kills and eight blocks to go with 24 serves and 50 passes.
Katy Irvin had eight kills, 44 passes and 15 serves for Glen Rose.
Samantha Strother led in blocks with nine.
Glen Rose wasted no time bouncing back, bombing Venus Friday, 25-14, 25-15, 25-20.
Irvin had 11 kills, served 11 times and made 30 passes, while West tallied eight kills, four blocks and 17 serves while passing the ball 25 times.
Reilly Junge served 16 times in the three sets, while Uehlein had 11.
