The Glen Rose Lady Tigers shut down the Fort Worth Castleberry Lady Lions, 61-25, Tuesday night in Glen Rose.

Destiny Ponce led the charge with 18 points, followed by Reilly Junge with 12.

"We did OK," Glen Rose head coach Sheree Hill said.

They did more than 'OK,' holding the Lady Lions to six points in the first, four in the second and six in the third.

"Everyone got a lot of playing time and they had a little fun," Hill said.

The Lady Tigers will be heading to the Bryan Tournament Dec. 28-30.

The junior varsity also had a strong showing, winning 56-37.

High scorer was Meredith Odom with 20 points.

Ashlan Bernard trailed her with 13 and showed superior court vision in racking up a handful of assists.

Bernard, a freshman, also played in the varsity game.

"We didn't want to get in foul trouble and she has such good vision," Hill said.

The junior varsity and varsity will travel to Country Day on Jan. 3.

The freshmen were not outdone and also beat the Lady Lions, 30-26.

It was a long, hard-fought game with 35 fouls called in the first half.

Lexi and Kalli Crabtree led the team with six points each.

All teams will be traveling to Hillsboro Jan. 6.
