The Cowboy Capital Rollergirls hosted the Wichita Falls Derby Dames on Saturday, Sept. 9 in a game that came down to the last jam with a final score of 197 CCR - 208 WFDD. Bout proceeds were slated for the Erath County United Way to benefit the Rollergirls' selected Spotlight Charity of the event, CASA for the Cross Timbers Area. The Rollergirls were pleased to present a $700 check to the ECUW for CASA.

With continued community support from fans, the Rollergirls are well on their way to meeting their $10,000 donation goal for the 2013 season. To date, the Rollergirls have given $7,000 back to local area nonprofit organizations.

"We donate the majority of ticket sales from each bout to a specific Spotlight Charity," says team co-captain KayLee Pemberton. "Every ticket purchased, whether you are able to attend or not, goes back to local nonprofits. We love competing in our sport, but contributing to our community and being excellent role models is our number one priority."

The Rollergirls will be back in action next month at Lone Star Arena on Saturday, Oct. 12 when they take on Dallas' Assassination City Roller Derby. "I feel very confident in our team for this matchup," says team captain Ashley Gill. "Assassination City always has a great team, but we've really been putting in some practice hours to prepare for them."

Tickets are on sale now on the league's website or from league members. Bout proceeds for this event will go to the ECUW benefiting Cross Timbers Family Services, as October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Tickets are $10 advance, $14 limited trackside, $12 at the door the day of and kids 10 and under are free.
