GLEN ROSE — The City of Glen Rose took most of the day Friday repair a water main leak in the area of 4th Street and Elm Street. Residents in the Summit Ridge subdivision were without water, and when water service was restored they were asked to boil their water for at least 24 hours.

The Chalk Mountain fire has scorched nearly 6,400 acres and was 10% contained as of Wednesday with no predictable end in sight, according to Texas A&M Forest Service officials.
