Three Somervell County charities will have a little extra money to help their patrons this holiday season thanks to the Glen Rose Wine & Art Festival Board of Directors and Members at Large.
Glen Rose- After its 50th anniversary, Dinosaur Valley State Park staff honored the LDL Friends of Dinosaur Valley State Park for their decades of hard work. State Representative Shelby Slawson of District 59 signed a state resolution celebrating the LDL members and formally supporting the group’s efforts in preserving, protecting, and enhancing the park for the community’s enjoyment.

Glen Rose- The Glen Rose Farmer’s Market has recently established guidelines to support its original ordinance. “For code enforcement to monitor (the market) or to even write a ticket, we have to have some type of permit for everyone to have,” said Kelly Harris of Glen Rose City Council. “There are state guidelines we must follow for our farmers market, or we could lose it.”
Glen Rose- On Nov. 3, Glen Rose City Council held a Virtual Town Hall meeting at 6:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize the community with an ongoing plan to expand and improve the city by following specific community guidelines.
The Glen Rose Tigers (9-1, 5-0) captured their seventh consecutive undefeated district championship Thursday night at Tiger Stadium with a 56-27 victory over Ferris. They will open the Class 4A Div. II playoffs next week with Graham on Friday at 7 p.m. at Aledo High School.
American Shetland Pony Club/American Miniature Horse Registry hosted the 2022 Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday at the Somervell County Expo Center. While the costume contests were being held, children of all ages went trick or treating in the horse stalls decorated by vendors and volunteers.
