Glen Rose ISD puts new multi-purpose facility to use

GLEN ROSE — Despite spring rain showers, the Glen Rose Varsity Tigers pushed through football practice last week inside the newly completed Glen Rose ISD Multi-Purpose Center, giving local leaders their first look at the state-of-the-art indoor training facility constructed behind the high school using funds from a recent bond issue. Superintendent Trig Overbo led a tour during lunch hours for invitees to observe the center in action during a varsity football practice run by Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Cliff Watkins, along with coaches Dan Pair and Jeff Pair.

'Take Back Mitchell Bend' organizes amid concerns

HOOD COUNTY — A growing group of Hood County residents is pushing to reclaim local control over industrial expansion by incorporating the Mitchell Bend area near Contrary Creek and Wolf Hollow Court between Glen Rose and Granbury to combat Texas' diminishing municipal powers. Mambrino Baptist Church is hosting a town hall meeting to address growing community questions and concerns about the move at 5 p.m.
