NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are being dragged lower early Tuesday after a warning from corporate giant Walmart that inflation was negatively impacting American consumers’ spending power. The S&P 500 index was down 0.6% as of 9:55 a.m.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes walked onto the practice field at Missouri Western State University on Sunday flanked by NFL rookies and longshots, many of whom dream of making in a year what the Chiefs quarterback will make by the end of the day.
A $100,000 lawsuit filed by Mayor Pro-Tem Chip Joslin against the City of Glen Rose and City Administrator Michael Leamons has been resolved without a monetary award, but Joslin is once again eligible for rehire by the city, according to Joslin’s attorney C. Davis Chapman.

The blaze, which started at FM 51 and FM 67 some 5 miles outside of Glen Rose (near Loco Coyote), has consumed 6,735 acres and destroyed 16 homes and damaged five others.
