GLEN ROSE — Glen Rose photographer Lori Gray turned her art into advocacy this September, raising $2,411 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and her daughter, pediatric cancer survivor Avery Gray, now healthy and attending college.

BLUFF DALE — Blue Horse Sanctuary will open its gates to the public Nov. 1 for its second annual Community Day, inviting visitors to meet the horses, enjoy demonstrations and learn about equine care.
