County Commissioners approve three-year parking lease with Macias family pending Expo sale

GLEN ROSE- In a unanimous decision, except for an absent Commissioner of Precinct 1, Jeff Harris, the Somervell County Commissioners Court approved a temporary lease agreement allowing the Macias family to use the 4.53 acres near the Somervell County Expo Center for parking. Somervell County Commissioners discuss old jail renovations in special session

GLEN ROSE- Somervell County Judge Danny Chambers and County Attorney Trey Brown led the discussion during a recent special session of the Commissioners Court, where commissioners, except Precint 1's Jeff Harris, who was not in attendance, unanimously passed a motion, with four votes in favor, to renovate the old jail on Highway 67. In partnership with the Mckinstry building and maintenance group, the proposal would cap expenses at $500,000, addressing office space shortages and security concerns at the current County building.
