The Glen Rose Tigers continue to reap the benefits of their record-setting 13-2 2022 football season as eight players were named to the Smoaky.com All Central Texas Teams when the list was released this week.
Glen Rose went on a 13-0 run, fueled by eight points from and five from Tomas De La Cruz, midway through the third quarter Friday night to break open a close game in leading the Runnin’ Tigers to a 42-29 victory over Stephenville.
From the opening tip Friday night, the No. 1 Glen Rose Lady Tigers dominated No. 8 Stephenville in the battle for first place in District 6-4A in front of the largest crowd of the season at Tiger Arena.
The No. 1-ranked Glen Rose Lady Tigers (29-1) will close out the first half of District 6-4A play Friday against No. 8 Stephenville (26-2) at 5:45 p.m. at Tiger Arena.

With only four of the 15 lifters with prior experience participating in last Wednesday’s season opener at Granbury, Glen Rose girls powerlifting coach Terry Harlin was pleased with how the team performed.
The Glen Rose boys powerlifting team recorded four first-places finishes, including the outstanding lifter of the meet, in their season opener last Thursday at Granbury High School. The Tigers finished second behind Granbury in the three-team meet.
For the third consecutive year, the Glen Rose Lady Tiger volleyball team has landed a player on the Texas Sportwriters Association All-State Volleyball Team.
Avery Gray, the 2022 District 6-4A Setter of the Year, has verbally committed to play volleyball at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas.
