SWEETWATER — The Glen Rose Tigers made history Friday night with their 62-14 victory over Monahans in the Class 4A Div. II state quarterfinals in Sweetwater in becoming the first football team in school history to make it to the final four.
GLEN ROSE — On paper, the Glen Rose Tigers and Carthage Bulldogs are virtually even. The Tigers are 131, and their lone loss was a 17-3 setback at Brownwood when Glen Rose quarterback Hudson White was on the shelf with a foot injury, and the Bulldogs are 14-0.
GLEN ROSE — Glen Rose’s Caden Smith scored a gamehigh 15 points and teammate Zeke Niedziela added 12 more in leading the Runnin’ Tigers to a 44-21 victory over Benbrook on Tuesday night at Tiger Arena.

Sophomore Jorge Mendoza was the frontrunner heading into camp, and he eventually earned the job, and since then, he’s shown he is the right person for the job.

MINERAL WELLS — All the momentum the Glen Rose Tigers amassed Friday against Wichita Falls Hirschi in gaining a 17-point halftime lead went to wayside in a matter of moments. “We knew they would come out with everything they had to start the second half,” Glen Rose football coach Cliff Watkins said.
SAGINAW — Glen Rose junior center Aimee Flippen scored a game-high 20 points and Grace Booth added nine as the No. 1 Lady Tigers held off Class 6A Saginaw Boswell, 4944, Tuesday night.
