Runnin’ Tigers hold off Keene, 51-46

GLEN ROSE — Glen Rose’s Caden Smith scored a teamhigh 17 points and Zeke Niedziela added 16 more in leading the Tigers to a 5146 victory over Keene on Tuesday night at Tiger Arena. The Tigers, who trailed by as many as eight in the third quarter, improve to 2-0 with the win after beating Iowa Park in the season opener on Saturday in Lipan.

Lady Tigers fall to Decatur in regional quarters

BROCK — For the third time in five years, the playoff run for the Glen Rose Lady Tigers came to an end at the hands of the Decatur Lady Eagles. The Lady Tigers, who beat Big Spring and Sanger in the first two rounds of the Class 4A volleyball playoffs, dropped a 23-25, 19-25, 25-27 decision to the Lady Eagles, the defending Class 4A champion, on Monday night at Brock High School in the regional quarterfinals.

Tigers open plays with Graham Friday

GLEN ROSE — The ninth-ranked Glen Rose Tigers wrapped up their seventh consecutive undefeated district championship on Friday night with a 5627 victory over Ferris at Tiger Stadium. “It says a lot about our guys,” said Glen Rose football coach Cliff Watkins, who has yet to lose a district contest at the helm of the Tigers.
