Fresh of their first district championship since 2017, the Rose girls cross country team had four runners named All-District 6-4A when the team, while two Tigers were also named all-district when the teams were announced last week.
For the first time since 2018, the Glen Rose Lady Tigers have advanced to the third round of the Class 4A volleyball playoffs.
HAWLEY — The Glen Rose Lady Tigers opened up the Class 4A playoffs with a convincing 25-18, 25-6, 25-6 over Big Spring on Monday Night at Hawley High School. With the win, the Lady Tigers, the District 6-4A champion, improve to 27-11 overall, and they met Sanger, the District 7-4A champion, at 6:30 p.m.
GLEN ROSE – The Glen Rose Tigers can capture their seventh consecutive undefeated district championship Thursday night (moved up from Friday) when they host Ferris at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium in the regular- season finale for both teams. “It’s a big game, especially since it’s for the district title and the last game before the playoffs,” Glen Rose football coach Cliff Watkins said. “It’s important because our first goal every year is to be district champs and we need all of that momentum heading into the playoffs.”
