Lady Tigers bring experience to court in 2022

GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Lady Tigers finished 24-16 last year and finished in District 6-4A, and they lost only two players from that team, and according to Glen Rose volleyball coach Sandy Langford, the pieces are there to put together for another winning season “We’re experienced,” Langford said. “The returners got a lot of playing the last year in the same positions they are going to playthis year with the exception of a few back row positions.”

Big 12’s new boss Yormark learning NCAA issues in real time

AP Sports Write ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — New Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark is learning the NCAA’s issues in real time and during a period of sweeping change and uncertainty. While Monday is Yormark’s first day working full-time out of the Big 12 office, leaving behind Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, the ex-CEO of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets has been steadily involved in conference matters since landing his first job in college athletics.

The eighth-ranked Glen Rose Tigers officially opened up fall practice bright and early on Monday morning at Tiger Stadium. Tiger fans can get their first look at the 2022 Tigers on Saturday morning when the JV and Freshman will intrasquad around 8:45 a.m. and the varsity squad will follow around 9:30. The Tigers are the six-time defending district champion and have yet to lose a district game under the tenure of head coach Cliff Watkins. They open the season Aug. 26 at home with Grandview.
