GLEN ROSE - As graduation approaches with each passing month, two more Glen Rose High School seniors have committed to the universities of their choice. Devan Elliott is heading to Sam Houston State and Ashlyn Reynolds will be off to Texas State University in the fall.

Devan Elliott

Q: Why did you choose Sam Houston State?

A: I chose Sam Houston because of the great college environment and music program they have. SHSU is so inviting and full of spirit and I can’t wait to receive the full college experience.

Q: How did it feel to get your acceptance letter?

A: It was such a relief to open the envelope and see that I had been accepted. My mom cried, because she was so excited. In that moment I felt so proud of all that I accomplished in high school.

Q: What would you like to major in and why?

A: I’m majoring in music therapy, because I love music and psychology. Music therapy is a perfect combination of the two.

Q: What are you looking forward to at college?

A: I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can and making new friendships. I can’t wait to experience college and possibly study abroad. I’m excited to see what it’s like to be a Bearkat. Eat ‘em up Kats!

Ashlyn Reynolds

A: After researching many colleges I chose Texas State because it showed the potential to help further my skills in the business industry.

Q: How did it feel to get your acceptance letter?

A: I was very excited and eager to start the next chapter in my life.

Q: What would you like to major in and why?

A: Sports marketing. I am a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks and with the sports marketing industry growing, I hope to work for the team one day.

Q: What are you looking forward to at college?

A: I am looking forward to becoming more independent and dabbling in the many cultures and activities offered at Texas State.

Congratulations to Devan and Ashlyn!
