GLEN ROSE – Paradise used a six-run third inning and an 11-run fourth inning to hand the Glen Rose Lady Tigers their second loss of the season in the opening round of the Hannah Morales Memorial Tournament in Glen Rose.

Thanks to a pair of hits and a little speed, the Lady Tigers jumped out to a two-run lead in the top of the first inning. Sabrina Watson led off the game with a triple to right field and scored three batters when Tatum Stegint grounded into a fielder’s choice to first base. Glen Rose’s speedy backstop, Page Green moved from first to third on the same play after she previously reached on an infield single. Green then scored on a first-pitch ball to Brittney Miller to cap the first inning scoring.

An infield single and dropped third strike allowed for a groundball to Courtney Morris standing inside the circle to score Paradise’s first run.

Morris refocused after the run and struck out the next two Paradise batters.

(3-2) Glen Rose added its third-and-final run in the top-half of the second, when Green drew a four-pitch walk with the bases loaded to score Kensy Massey.

The next six outs came rather quickly for both teams, but it was four-straight singles that started the Paradise rally in the bottom of the third that ended six runs later.

Paradise added 10-more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning after striking out the side in order in the top-half. Time expired in the tournament opener with Paradise holding a commanding 18-3 lead.

Madi Gibson added a single for Glen Rose’s only other hit.

Glen Rose will look to bounce back at 2:15 p.m. against Carrollton Ranchview.
