GLEN ROSE - Lace up the sneakers and get ready to get colorful during the Charity Color Run and Spring Fling on Saturday, April 2 at Wheeler Branch Park from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Proceeds from the run will benefit Kyle’s Care and the Somervell County Cancer Support Group.

In the memory of Kyle Bradley Staples, Kyle’s Care is a non-profit that benefits the families of critically ill children at Cook Children’s in Fort Worth. The Kyle Bradley Staples Memorial Fund at Cook Children’s provides funds that make it possible for families of critically ill children to eat in the hospital’s cafeteria for free while their child receives treatment.

The Somervell County Cancer Support Group provides assistance to local cancer patients by helping supply medicine and gas through local businesses. The group is also a support network that provides comfort and friendship throughout the process.

During color runs, runners and walkers begin in clean white shirts and as they proceed through the run are showered in colored powder. The untimed race provides a fun experience for families while promoting health and happiness. On Saturday, families will not only be doused in color for the fun run, there will also be music, food, carriage rides, inflatables, and raffle items.

You can register for the run Friday, April 1 from 5 - 7p.m. at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church in Glen Rose or the day of the race from 8 - 9a.m. at Wheeler Branch Park. The cost is $25 per person.
