GLEN ROSE - It’s that time of the year again when local residents and businesses join together to make the community a better place. Yes, Christmas in Action is alive and getting ready for another set of projects.
Christmas in Action is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that, in partnership with the community, repairs homes of low-income elderly and/or disabled homeowners by putting Christian values and principles in “Action.” They also do service projects for local non-profit locales such as the Barnard Mill and Art Museum.
The mission of Christmas in Action is to follow God’s teachings by working together to preserve and revitalize houses and communities, assuring that these low-income elderly and disabled homeowners live in warmth, safety, and independence.
To accomplish this mission, the organization concentrates its efforts during the month of April with a community wide workday scheduled this year on Saturday, April 9. The community is invited and encouraged to join Christmas in Action in the several projects that have been approved for this year.
Registration forms and information brochures are available at CENTURY 21 Quad J Realty, Higginbotham’s, Glen Rose Reporter, and First United Methodist Church. If you have questions, please call Hank Jones at (254) 897-9240.
