MILLSAP – The Lady Tigers and their seniors went out with an offensive showcase in the 2016 finale. Glen Rose scored 12 runs in the first two innings of Friday’s 17-1 run-rule win on the road Friday against Millsap.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak and placed (11-17, 5-9) Glen Rose into a tie for fifth place with Rio Vista in the final 11-3A standings.

Glen Rose scored five runs in the top of the first inning on singles by Page Green, Kensy Massey and Jaci Bridges and walks to Sabrina Watson, Destenie Lewis and Madi Gibson. The Lady Tigers added seven runs on seven hits in the top of the second inning with 13 batters stepping into the box.

Eight of the nine Lady Tiger hitters recorded at least one hit, with Watson, Green, Gibson and Starnes collecting two hits each. But it was Massey and Bridges who led the team with three hits apiece.

Massey also plated three Lady Tigers to lead the team in the RBI column.

Watson picked up a complete-game win in her final time inside the circle as a Lady Tiger. She allowed one earned run on four hits with one walk while striking out three.
