ADDISON, TX – The Daughters of the Republic of Texas held it annual convention May 12-14 in Addison with a “Celebrating 125 Years of Preserving Texas History” theme.

Bosque River chapter was well represented by Toni Morgan, president; Jane Klein, vice president; Judith D’Amico, registrar; Joy Duncan, Children of the Republic of Texas sponsor, and Charlene Lietz, member. The chapter was awarded six-star status, which includes having a chapter of the CRT, presenting programs on Texas history to various groups, donating books on Texas history or Texas flags to schools, celebrating Texas Honor Days and entering the DRT History Museum’s art contest. DRT member, Joy Duncan not only entered the art contest but won at district and state levels.

The charter for the new Bosque River Chapter of Children of the Republic of Texas was presented to CRT President Toni Morgan and chapter sponsor Joy Duncan by 3rd Vice President General Sonein Noack.

Judith D’Amico was elected and sworn in as District 2 Representative and will represent 10 chapters from Wichita Falls to Brownwood and Euless to Breckenridge on the board of management. In addition, Jane Klein was elected District 2 representative to the nominating committee.
