ARLINGTON – Peanuts, hot dogs and Texas Ranger baseball make for a splendid outing, just ask the seven residents of Glen Rose Nursing and Rehab Center after a trip to “The Globe” with the Cross of Christ Church.
Luckily, the trip included a June 5 win by the first place Rangers over the American League West rival Seattle Mariners.
“I enjoyed watching their faces glow with so much happiness,” GRNR Activities Director Rachel Rodriguez said. “Some had never attended a game. They had so much fun and are still talking about it.”
While at the game, Father Joe Scalisi also visited with each of the residents. The church hopes to continue its community outreach activities with GRNR, a representative said.
Cross of Christ Church is located at 1100 N. Herford St. off of Farm-to-Market 56. Sunday services are held at 10:30 a.m. For more information on the church, which is a mission of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, contact Scalisi at (682) 999-1010.
