The patients of Alpha Omega Hospice need volunteer visits for emotional support, companionship, pet visits, music and more. Adults and Teens, 16 and up, spend an hour or two a week after orientation. Discovery After Dark

7 – 10 p.m. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center Eco Center: Come enjoy the evening beauty of Fossil Rim. Watch the stars and listen to the nighttime sounds, as we venture out into the park at dark. We’ll start with an interactive learning experience where you can discover nocturnal animal adaptations and how animals utilize the night sky. Then, using spotlights, we’ll go on a guided after-dark adventure that will feature both the exotic and native nocturnal wildlife at Fossil Rim and allow you to sit back, relax and enjoy the night. The price includes admission to the Scenic Wildlife Drive which can be used the day of Discovery after Dark or the morning after (before 10 a.m.).This event is recommended for ages five to adult. Easy Birding Walk

7:30 a.m. Dinosaur Valley State Park: We will meet in front of the Park Store and hike the trails hugging the south side of the river. Participants will look and listen for birds with the help of a Park Ranger. This is an easy two-hour, two-mile hike, mostly on flat terrain. 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Creation Evidence Museum: 10 a.m. Don Shockey Veteran Ark Researcher, followed by a video he made with Ed Davis describing the climb to see the Ark in 1943; 10:40 a.m. Elfred Lee, Member of the Search Scientific Expedition, who personally carried wood from the Fernand Navarro site in 1969; 11:20 a.m. John Morris was struck by lightning while searching for the Ark on Mt. Ararat. He will describe the possible Noah’s Altar; 1 p.m. Bruce Hall operated the deep-probe drill bit that extracted a piece of possible wood fragment at the “Astronaut Jim Erwin site” high on Mt. Ararat. He will have current microscopic slides showing the fragment and its possible identification; 1:40 p.m. Allen Searson is preparing for a Mt. Ararat climb; 2:20 p.m. Aaron Judkins climbed to the Jim Erwin site and made on-going arrangements with the Hollywood documentary film team; 3 p.m. Carl Baugh. This is only the second time in history that such an event has taken place!

Photo Tour

4 – 8 p.m. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center: This tour lasts four hours and will let the photographer catch the dusk light, the best light possible for afternoon photos. The tour will go through Fossil Rim’s 1,800-acre pastures. There are 59 species of animals here at Fossil Rim. Some of the animals that may be photographed are white rhinoceros, blackbuck, European red deer, gemsbok, zebra, addax, waterbuck, giraffe, sable antelope, axis deer and dama gazelle. ‘Fossil Diggin’

2 – 3 p.m. Dinosaur Valley State Park: Play the role of a Paleontologist and pretend that you’re on a real dig. Using small brushes, carefully uncover millions-of-years-old marine fossils buried in sand. Learn about the animal that lived in the ocean alongside the beach where dinosaurs roamed. ‘Night Hike’

8:30 – 9:30 p.m. Dinosaur Valley State Park: This hike is about 1.5 miles long and is intermediate level. The hike starts at track site 2 and then continues across the river then up to the overlook.
