Discovery After Dark

7 am – 10 p.m. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center meet at Eco Center: Come enjoy the evening beauty of Fossil Rim. Watch the stars and listen to the nighttime sounds, as we venture out into the park at dark. We’ll start with an interactive learning experience where you can discover nocturnal animal adaptations and how animals utilize the night sky. Then, using spotlights, we’ll go on a guided after-dark adventure that will feature both the exotic and native nocturnal wildlife at Fossil Rim and allow you to sit back, relax and enjoy the night. The price includes admission to the Scenic Wildlife Drive which can be used the day of Discovery after Dark or the morning after (before 10 a.m.).This event is recommended for ages five to adult. 4 – 8 p.m. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center: This tour lasts four hours and will let the photographer catch the dusk light, the best light possible for afternoon photos. The tour will go through Fossil Rim’s 1,800-acre pastures. There are 59 species of animals here at Fossil Rim. Some of the animals that may be photographed are white rhinoceros, blackbuck, European red deer, gemsbok, zebra, addax, waterbuck, giraffe, sable antelope, axis deer and dama gazelle. Volunteer Opportunities:

The patients of Alpha Omega Hospice need volunteer visits for emotional support, companionship, pet visits, music and more. Adults and Teens, 16 and up, spend an hour or two a week after orientation.
