GLEN ROSE – Although the Glen Rose football team suffered a 47-21 loss to Grandview in the Aug. 26 home season opener, senior quarterback Ethan Hartman's stellar performance has resulted in his being named one the Glen Rose Reporter's two Athletes Of The Week.
The Athlete of the Week is selected based on performances, statistics, and input from Glen Rose Coaches. In this case, Ethan Hartman's performance speaks for itself.
Hartman played an integral part in all three touchdowns for the Tigers and passed for 204 yards in all to earn the honor as football player of the week.
The 6-1, 185-pound Hartman scored the first touchdown of the season for Glen Rose, on a 1-yard run in the opening quarter. That enabled the Tigers to grab a 7-6 early lead over the Zebras.
Hartman also heaved two TD passes, both in the second half.
He connected with Dietrick James on a 44-yard TD pass in the third quarter.
Kully Reynolds caught Hartman’s 24-yard aerial for the final Glen Rose TD, in the fourth quarter.
