Kully Reynolds, a senior tight end and middle linebacker, is the Glen Rose High School football Athlete of the Week following his outstanding two-way performance in last Friday’s 48-7 victory over Lake Worth.

Reynolds tied a school record with three touchdown receptions, from 45, 14 and 20 yards out, all thrown by quarterback Ethan Hartman. He snagged five passes in all for a team-leading 102 yards.

On defense, the 5-9, 175-pound Reynolds recorded six solo tackles, two assists and one tackle for a loss.

“He stepped up and had a good game,’ Tigers head coach Cliff Watkins said. “He had a his hand in a cast for a while.”

The coach noted that Reynolds had been performing despite a hand injury and, because of that, had not been able to play on offense for a while.

Now Reynolds will likely play both ways for the foreseeable future, Watkins said, until freshman tight end Davis Shackelford is able to return from an injury.
