Caden Schinagel, an eighth grader at Glen Rose Junior High School, placed third Saturday morning in the 12-14-year-old division of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo’s Star-Telegram Art Contest.

Schinagel, 13, earned $75 for taking third place, and has been a finalist in five of the last six years. There were 178 entries, both boys and girls, in his division, and more than 1,000 entries overall.

The pastel painting he entered was done from a photograph of Cashion Kalipfel of Glen Rose, riding a bucking bronco in a Ranch Rodeo competition. It was to be put on display at the Stock Show in the Amon Carter Museum Exhibit Hall.
