The 18th annual Central Texas Beef Cattle Meeting for the Somervell, Bosque, Hood and Johnson County Texas A&M AgriLife extension offices is set for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

It will be at First United Methodist Family Center, 405 North East Barnard St. in Glen Rose. It’s open to anyone.

The dinner and educational program will feature AgriLife specialists in entomology, beef cattle and economics. Topics will include “Maximizing income with genetics and new veterinarian feed directive” with Dr. Steve Hammack, plus livestock entomology and screwworm update with Dr. Sonja Swiger, and cattle numbers and outlook with Dr. Jason Johnson.

The meeting will qualify as one continuing education credit.

Registration will commence at 5:30 p.m., followed by the dinner at 6. Coverage of the topics is scheduled to begin at 6:30.
