Two places on the City Council along with the mayor's seat will be voted on in the Glen Rose City Election this May, and potential candidates can pick up election packets from City Secretary Christy Cavness Bradshaw at City Hall starting Wednesday. The packets include an election application along with instructions and information on election laws. Deadline for filing to be on the ballot for either the Glen Rose City Council or for mayor is set at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. The City Council has five members, all in at-large positions. The current two-year terms of Council members Mike Jones and Dennis Moore are up this year. Neither Moore nor Jones has announced publicly about running for re-election. Mayor Sam Moore, who was elected to her current two-year term in 2015, also has not publicly declared whether she intends to run again. Jones is finishing his second term on the City Council. Moore served one previous term on the Council before a two-year stint as mayor, followed by his current two-year term on the Council. City Hall is located at 201 NE Vernon Street in Glen Rose, and is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
