Brian Watts has been reappointed for another two-year term as Somervell County auditor.
District judges John E. Neill, of the 18th Judicial District, and Wayne Bridewell, 249th Judicial District, made the decision on May 18 for the new biennial term beginning Thursday, June 1.
Watts, 50, has held the Somervell County auditor position since 2013.
The judges approved a raise of $1,500 per year for Watts, bringing his annual salary to $69,000. That takes effect starting Oct. 1, 2017, with the start of the new budget.
Watts’ new term continues through May 31, 2019.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my position here as county auditor,” Watts said. “We have been through some very unique challenges. I’m grateful to the citizens of Somervell County for their support as I continue to be their auditor.”
The South Carolina native is married to Glen Rose native Sherry Flanary Watts.
