WESTMINSTER, Texas (AP) — Four people were killed and six people have been taken to hospitals with a variety of injuries after a five-vehicle crash on a rural North Texas highway.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says two of those injured were airlifted to Dallas hospitals. Three other people suffered minor injuries in the 4 p.m. crash on a two-lane stretch of Texas 121 at an intersection with a county road near the rural community of Westminster.
DPS Trooper Lonny Haschel said a car was northbound on Texas 121 when it slowed and was rear-ended by a pickup truck. It spun into the southbound lane where it was hit by another car, which skidded into the northbound lane and into another pickup truck.
The crash scene is 50 miles northeast of Dallas.
