Come help us celebrate 58 years of Hawaiian statehood. We will be having a Luau on Friday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. with an Elvis impersonator and some silly games as well as Hawaiian refreshments.

Winners of last week’s Bunco tournament were Louise McCoy with the most Buncos, Betty Flanagan with the most wins and Carole Kofke with the most losses. Others playing were: Caroline Abrego, Kenna Kay Nuckols, Norma Wright, Joel Glenn, Jackie Smith and Janet Stacy.

Our next dance will be Friday, Aug. 11, with live music by Western Reunion.  Doors open at 6 p.m.  

Activities at the Citizen’s Center beginning August 7th are: Bluegrass music/ potluck, Bingo and Chess on Monday, Fit/Flex group exercise and wood carving on Tuesday; Bunco tournament, blood pressure testing by Glen Rose Nursing & Rehab and Dollar General shopping on Wednesday; Chess, group exercise and local grocery shopping on Thursday and dance ft. Western Reunion, Bingo and local grocery shopping on Friday.

Besides the scheduled activities, there are games, puzzles, Forty Two and visiting going on every day.  Don’t see it on the calendar? Make a suggestion; we’re always looking for new ideas.

If you know anyone who may need meals, transportation, an emergency response system, medical equipment, Food Stamps (SNAP) or Food Bank applications, utility assistance applications or any other senior oriented services, please call or come by the Center.
