1. Winter Solstice Celebration
Round up the family and head to Dinosaur Valley State Park to celebrate the season at the Winter Solstice Celebration taking place from 8-10 p.m. Friday at the amphitheater. The event will feature stories by a campfire, the burning of a yule log and winter-themed crafts. Those attending should bring blankets and chairs. 2. Star Party in the Valley
Take a glimpse into space at Dinosaur Valley State Park’s Star Party in the Valley taking place from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at track site 3. Telescopes will be on site, but if you have one, bring it. Those attending will learn about constellations, galaxies, stars and the moon. Please do not turn on flashlights or cell phones during the party.
3. Christmas Eve Hike
If you’re looking to get outdoors with the family Christmas Eve, then head over the Dinosaur Valley State Park for an afternoon hike from 2-3 p.m. Sunday starting at the park store. The hike will be about 1.5 miles and will mostly flat terrain. Bring water and comfortable hiking shoes.
